The Intercultural (ESL) Ministry is a commitment by Cedar Grove Baptist Church to reach out to, and embrace people of all ethnic, cultural and economic backgrounds, especially those whose mother tongue is not English.

To do this, the church actively provides a number of different programs that will help newcomers to settle and adjust into their new community, build new relationships, interact with one another, and become one with its body of believers.

Cedar Grove  and this Ministry takes its mandate for this directly from Scripture which makes it clear that an intercultural body of believers is God's idea.

In His great commission, Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus made it clear by instructing His disciples and us, to go out and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything He (sic) commanded them.

Jesus further commanded all of us to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind; and to love your neighbor as yourself."

To demonstrate this, Jesus intentionally crossed ethnic and gender barriers when He talked with the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:1-26). He emphasized that His family (and therefore ours) consists of anyone who believes in Him (Ephesians 2:14-19).

Therefore, to all who want to and all who need to, Cedar Grove Baptist Church and the Intercultural (ESL) Ministry Team extends a welcoming hand and invites them to take part and make use of all or any one of the free programs provided.
