November is quickly approaching and for the first time Cedar Grove will be serving as a Collection Depot for National Collection Week! 2018 SHE WEEKEND
TIMELESS TRUTHS | Psalms of the Heart
Stillwood Conference Centre
Whether you’ve read through the bible many times, never picked it up before, or anywhere in between, you’ll find that spending time in the Psalms always nourishes us. Sometimes it does this in clear obvious ways and sometimes it is totally unexpected. These words were written 3,000 years ago by people whose lives looked little like our own. And yet, the aches, the longings, the questions and the worship - all of the human experience - remains the same. Throughout all the years, our God remains timeless and true.
Come with us to Stillwood Conference Centre, near Chilliwack, BC where you will be blessed, encouraged and challenged. We will enjoy sweet times of worship, amazing meals and fun activities; along with plenty of opportunities to meet new friends on this amazing journey that God has called each one of us on. Please note Stillwood is a SCENTS FREE facility.
Register in the foyer on Sundays or online here. Registration Closes September 23. QUESTIONS? Contact Lori Fuller | 604-999-3587 | email@example.com
Saturday Afternoon - We have a variety of activities for you to participate in: Craft, Games, Hot Tub, Walk, Low Ropes and More
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING
IT WOULD BE NICE TO BRING
Barbie Warwick and her ever patient hubby, Frank, are sometimes surprised when they realize that they are now parents of adults! To compensate for the half empty nest, they have adopted a pair of crazy dogs, and you can often find her in the off-leash park throwing the ball for them! The Arts, both Performing and Visual, are a big part of her life. Barbie has the great pleasure of working at the Surrey Arts Centre and in the film industry. There are three things that Barbie knows to be true: 1) God is good, 2) He loves all of us, and 3) He wants us to do the same.
Larissa Nelson has been falling in love with Jesus from the wee age of 7 and has been an involved member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church for 8 years now. She currently lives in Surrey and teaches English and History to students in her old high school. In her spare time, she volunteers with youth and worship at her church and travels as much as she can. Other favorite pastimes include: spending time with family, going for long walks in nature, and making up silly songs on her piano.
Kathryn Higginbottom is a single mom of four living in Delta and attending Community of Hope church. She is finally back at school finishing her Bachelor of Education, after spending 20 years trying to decide what she wanted to be when her children grew up. She is always striving to get less strength from her coffee pot and more from resting in God and is very excited to be part of the Cedar Grove retreat this year.
As Susan Hill has become older, she has not lost her heart for women and the struggles that they face. She still loves to come alongside, to listen, and to encourage women in their journey. She has learned the importance of transparency in sharing her personal journey and the things that her Abba Father has taught her. She has enjoyed many areas of ministry over the past fifty-two years since becoming a Christ follower. First, in their church in Ontario, then for twelve years at Cedar Grove after God brought Susan and Ken to BC in 2000. She continues to look to the Lord for His leading since they have moved into Elim Village, a retirement community. Susan enjoys one on one time with women, reading, card making, and scrapbooking.
