Sister, our prayer for you this summer is that you would know that you are loved, favoured and part of this church community! This passport is for you – it’s for us – it’s time and space that has been purposely set aside for the women at Cedar Grove. Time this summer for us to be TOGETHER! Places to go and things to do, rain or shine! Take a look, grab a friend, and we will see you soon!
First Passport Stop
FRI, JUL 29 | 7 – 9 PM: ICE CREAM SOCIAL – Fireside Room (children are welcome)
Join us for a mid-summer ice cream social! We will supply the ice cream and a few of our favourite toppings. Bring your friends, your kids and your favourite toppings, and join us in the Fireside Room for some delicious fun and fellowship time! Topping suggestions include fruit, brownie bits, cookie bites, whipped cream, gummy bears, etc. If you are able to be generous please bring a sweet treat to donate to the Surrey Food Bank as well.
Second Passport Stop
SAT, AUG 13 | 10 AM – Noon: WALK IN THE PARK - Green Timbers (children are welcome to join you)
Bring a friend and join us as we walk, talk and enjoy Yahweh's beautiful creation on a peaceful 3 kilometer pathway. Meet at the park information board where multiple trails begin (Enter the park at the 14600 block of 100th Avenue). The walk will be approximately one-hour-long. Bring a bagged lunch and we'll eat in the picnic area by the lake after the walk. Dogs on leash are welcome. This will be a beautiful way to begin the weekend!
Third Passport Stop
WED, AUG 17 | 6:30 – 8:30 PM: CRAFT NIGHT – Fireside Room
Whether you knit, crochet, scrapbook, stitch, draw, etc. bring your “work in progress”, bring one of your own crafting projects to work on in good company. Or if you want to just hang out and visit - that’s okay too! Come join us for a fun evening together!
Fourth Passport Stop
FRI, AUG 26 | 6 – 9 PM: SOUPER SUMMER SUPPER for the Surrey Food Bank - Fireside Room
More than just dinner and fellowship - this is dinner with purpose!! On this passport stop we will be collecting non-perishable food donations to help nourish and keep our community physically healthy. With the cost of groceries steadily increasing the donations to the Surrey Food Bank have dwindled significantly and they need our help. There is no cost for this dinner but please bring one can of soup and one other item on the Surrey Food Bank's most needed list (see below). The one can of soup will help make up our dinner - so please don't forget it :). After dinner we will hear a couple of testimonies of God's grace and provision in the family of Cedar Grove that you won't want to miss!
Most Needed Food Bank items:
- canned fish / meat
- meals in a tin
- canned fruit & vegetables
- whole grain rice & pasta
- pasta sauce
- canned soup
- Mac & cheese
- peanut butter
- low sodium items
