Reports To:  Executive Council, Pastoral Team
Job Type:  Contractual (w.e.f. 21 April 2025)

PROFILE SUMMARY
The Communication’s Coordinator is a passionate, visionary leader who will provide communication and administration leadership at Cedar Grove Church. The primary purposes of this role will be to enhance the worship, discipleship, and evangelistic activities of Cedar Grove from a media and graphics perspective. This role is also to provide administration and leadership to the Cedar Grove staff, its volunteers and congregation as it pertains to the creation and publication of graphics, electronic media, print material, email communication and website / app development. The Communication’s Coordinator is to be a Godly person of deep faith, wisdom and courage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
Promotions
  • Proactively develop strategies to clarify and communicate the weekly messaging of the church, in partnership with leadership and ministry leaders.
  • Oversee all print and digital materials related to promotions, ensuring they are executed with excellence.
Digital Communication & Social Media
  • Lead all efforts related to the creation, strategy, and execution of our digital communication channels.
  • Creatively build followings on various social media outlets including but not limited to, Facebook, X, and Instagram.
  • Lead messaging and strategy for social media advertising campaigns.
  • Keep our App up to date and ensure its effective use.
  • Maintain our Constant Contact list and send a weekly email update.
Design & Brand Management
  • Lead efforts to design all art and promotional materials related to church-wide activities with a high standard of creativity, excellence and effectiveness.
  • Monitor the look, vibe and feel of all promotional materials representing Cedar Grove.
  • Oversee the use of logos and images that represent Cedar Grove.
Team Development
• Enlist, equip and encourage qualified volunteer and interns to accomplish communications goals.
Meetings
  • Attend the weekly staff meeting.
  • Meet with those requiring graphics, updates to the website, changes to the app, and
    any details that are needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS
  • A heart for the local church, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to use communications to reach others.
  • Experience in communications, media, or related experience.
  • Proficient in Creative Suite programs, such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator or
    other tools used to create effective design.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Action-oriented and displays focus, passion and initiative. Takes appropriate action
    when something needs to be done.
  • Relates well to all kinds of people, builds effective relationships, communicates
    effectively both interpersonally and corporately.
  • Organized, creative thinker and highly productive, working in a fast-paced environment.

Yugo Missions Trip Coordinator - Posted April 2, 2025
Position Title: YUGO Missions Coordinator
Location:  Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Surrey B.C. Canada
Reports To:  Global Missions Team
Job Type:  Volunteer Position

Position Profile:
The YUGO Short-Term Missions Coordinator serves under the direction of the Global Missions Team. This role is designed to support the vision, mission, and purpose of Cedar Grove by overseeing the direction and implementation of the short-term mission trip scheduled for spring break 2026.

Skill Set:
  • Strong Leader: Spiritually gifted in leadership, discernment, and shepherding, with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build, lead and maintain relationships (volunteers, staff, and global Hosts), while building a culture of trust, facilitating cross-cultural relationships, and understanding team and ministry dynamics.
  • Influencer and Motivator: Ability to cast vision and inspire people around the vision and strategy for mobilizing Cedar Grove volunteers.
  • Personality: A personable demeanor and engaging personality; outgoing, relational, and positive.
  • High Capacity: Self-motivated; systematic; works well corporately and independently. Strong project management and leadership skills with a proven ability to influence people and build consensus among all levels of the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of the YUGO missions trip including communications (participants, leaders), trip logistics (tickets, budgets, accommodations, transportation, adherence to trip policies, insurance, visas) reporting, and evaluation of the trip.
  • Record and maintain an emergency response strategy for the trip.
  • Work with the Communications team to create promotional materials and set up new
    trips on website (information, registration, online giving).
  • Provide financial management and accountability for trip donations and account
    reconciliation.
  • Provide leadership leading up to the trip including training, language development,
    coordinating with YUGO and ensuring participants are ready and prepared for the trip.
Spiritual Responsibilities:
  • Incumbent adheres to the Statement of Faith as established and approved by Cedar Grove Church.
  • Incumbent is a member in good standing, participates in praying, giving, serving, worshiping and attends as an active member of the church.
